Without trying to sound too creepy, I must admit that I am a bit of a voyeur; in the age of lifestyle blogs it appears that we really all are. I love seeing articles like these ones (called "The Method") that Brian Ferry has been shooting for Harry's Five O'Clock Magazine, where Brian photographs various people performing their morning routines. I eat these kind of things up. I love seeing what people do in their day-to-day routine: what they eat for breakfast, if they take their time and read over a cup of coffee or if they just throw on some clothes and run out the door, what products they use, etc.. I found it particularly charming that Chad Buri makes a peanut butter and jelly sandwich every day. I hope that there will be many more of these features in the future. 

My morning routine? 

1. Waking up and being grumpy 

2. Zombie-walking towards the coffee 

3. Eating either eggs and sausage or oatmeal 

4. Reading blogs and mindlessly flipping through Tumblr. 

Now that I'm looking at this it doesn't sound like a very positive morning routine, does it? I'm obviously not a morning person but maybe I should try to be less grumpy and maybe, just maybe, not instantly look at a computer (or iPad) screen. Maybe I'll try to switch it up and read a magazine or book instead?

My friend Kelly recently reminded me how amazing The Knife are by telling me to watch this video of them performing "Heartbeats" live. I can't wait for their new album (their first in seven years) that's coming out this April.

Really wishing that I could buy this stunning Brooklyn apartment that Brian Ferry recently shot. 

THIS IS RAD + A FRIDAY ROUNDUP +

I've been a fan of Brian Ferry's photography for a couple of years now so I was super psyched to see his beautiful Brooklyn apartment on Sight Unseen last week. It's a wonderful mix of minimal and eclectic. 

Ugh. That's all I have to say. Sometimes I hear a song that's so good that it almost pisses me off. "Try to Be" by Blue Hawaii is one of those songs. I'm mostly angry because I've been hearing about Blue Hawaii for a while now and haven't listened to any of their work until last night. Now I am hooked and angry that their new album Untogether doesn't come out until next week. In the mean time, I will be repeatedly listening to it on Pitchfork Advance.

Oh Lordy. I am headed to Austin in a little over a week for SXSW and I am so. damn. happy. So far this Pitchfork Day Party has me the most excited. I will most definitely be spending my whole day there. 

FRIDAY LIST

To finish off the work week, here's a collection of things that made it more bearable. 

1. Brian Ferry's beautiful photos in the equally beautiful new Synonym Journal.

2. I want to eat all of the pumpkin things. 

3. Currently drooling over everything from Pour Porter.

4. Not that I didn't already love Kinfolk, but now they've helped create a dreamy bag with Apolis, perfect for farmer's markets and picnics. I'll take one please.

5. I would love to add this simple dishware to my fairly empty cabinet.

6. Badass lighting from Blom & Blom.
